ATHLETIC MINISTRIES seeks to enable individuals to attain optimal health through group exercise classes. Each of us is comprised of physical, mental, spiritual and emotional attributes. We believe that improving our physical condition can lead to corresponding improvement in each of the other areas.

Our expansion into team sports adds an additional component of family and community, because we believe that the church should be the hub of every aspect of our lives, just as Christ is our spiritual center.

COMMUNITY GROUPS are designed to connect people in their faith. Belonging to a group helps us to build community, care for one another and discover our callings by allowing us to love, learn, worship, play and serve together! Our community groups are dedicated to and intentional about gathering together. Jesus didn’t live life alone. Neither should you!

LAY COUNSELING MINISTRY at Chapel Hill offers well trained, compassionate, highly skilled lay counselors who provide encouragement, direction, and support. Their training is Christ-based and Chapel Hill-based, working within our value and faith structures. They give spiritual support and point towards hope and wholeness.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Ongoing administrative support – 2 hours/week
  Assistance with photocopying, file organization, phone calling, etc.
•  Renewal project assistant – 5-10 hours, depending on project
  Oversee larger Renewal projects such as creating a Lay Counseling library, organizing a library of CDs, or creating a database for Renewal ministries
•  Renewal newsletter – creation of monthly newsletter that communicates various Renewal events

LIFE HURTS/GOD HEALS is designed for high school and middle school students seeking support for school/family/relationship pressure or struggles. This is a small, group-centered series where confidentiality and acceptance are our priorities.

Volunteer Opportunities:

• High School Small Group Leaders — adult male and female
• Middle School Small Group Leaders — adult male and female
• Audio/Visual Support — to run power point/movies/CD/video clips/ etc.
• Speakers to help others apply God's message of healing
• Activities Coordinator — plan and lead large group experiential activities to deepen learning
• Large Group Program Coordinator
• Web Site Support — Oversight of LHGH presence on web site; add/change information regularly.

All positions (except speakers) need at least one year minimum commitment to provide leadership consistency for the teens.The Life Hurts God Heals program meets on Thursdays, 6:30–8:30pm.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Chapel Hill Marriage Champions – Couples who will be part of a team handling registrations & answering questions at the Resource Center, making contacts for pre-marriage mentoring, helping to facilitate trainings, PR, and special events.

• Chapel Hill Marriage Champions Coordinators – One lead couple who will work with Renewal Ministries to both support and coordinate the volunteer team of Marriage Champions.
