September—June
Back Up Buddies is a program that provides support for elementary school boys. Chapel Hill men volunteer to mentor boys who are chosen by Discovery Elementary School counselors as needing extra encouragement. Volunteers and students meet once a month for games, crafts, refreshments and conversation. The boys benefit tremendously from the extra attention and the mentors report being richly blessed by their participation in the program. September—June Las Amigas is an after school program for elementary aged girls who have been selected by their school counselors as likely to benefit from the attention of female mentors. Mentors are Chapel Hill women who volunteer to meet with the girls once a month for a time of crafts, conversation and fun. The program is popular with the school, the girls, and the mentors, all of whom count it a great success. To volunteer as a mentor or for further information please contact Dottie at 264.6337.

Summer Celebration All-Church Picnic
